Flovent and changing asthma symptoms

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Has anyone here noticed that their asthma symptoms have changed since being on Flovent.  I am talking about when you are actually having some asthma trouble.  I notice that my attacks come on slower now and less frequent with Flovent – and I also notice that the symptoms tend to be different.  Before Flovent my asthma symptoms always started with a tightness in my upperchest and a definite Wheezing.  Now I find they seem to start lower down in the chest – feels likea tightness in the lower back actually – and I don’t get wheezing as much as I just feel short of breath.  I wondered if I was along in this sensation.

If it’s helping, I don’t see it. I’ve had three bouts of bronchitis since Sept. Helen

Response:

CarolR hit it right on the head. After being on Flovent for about a year, my symptoms changed from having chest tightness to a feeling only my small airways were slowly closing on me.  Atrovent, by the way, takes care of "that" feeling much better then Albuterol….

I get the tightness and feel short of breath also.  I rarely ever wheeze anymore.  I don’t get the typical asthma attacks.  I almost feel like only my small bronchioles are affected now rather than the large bronchus.  Kinda weird :) . CarolR

Question:

Alec, What would be considered a supraphysio dose? Would inhaling FLOVENT 110mcg twice in the am and twice in the pm over a three week period be sufficient to affect my testostorone level to the point of extremely low labido? Once the FLOVENT is stopped would my body rebuild to its normal testostorne levels over time or is this permamanent damage? I know something has changed in me. I know my body very well and I know and feel I am not right. I love and desire my lady but I am not reacting the way I use to. I thought it might be a a head thing but I can’t even masturbate in privacy watching a skin flick. I honestly don’t know! What is the normal dose of FLOVENT? What is the right dose for you? Virtually everything that I take would be at a supraphisiologic dose to the rest of the folks in this group! now something has changed in me. Something serious has happened to you and that uro is an idiot. Somehow, something has shut down within you. From your description I’d say that you need an endocrinologist with a specialty in andrology. I only know of 3 in that category – Dr Bain in Toronto, Dr Shippen and Dr Kryger – and only have experience with the one in Toronto. Dr Bain does see non-Canadians and, if you want some relief from the oppresive heat of Florida, you could arrange to see him. To get an idea of how good that I think he is – if he was a car mechanic working on my car, I’d enter a go-kart in the Indy 500.

Response:

Chip.. I’m sorry about your lousy experience with your Uro. My advice is get the hell away immediately from anyone with that attitude. Don’t let it go on and pay more money to the jerk. Continue asking about others in your area. I think there are websites for finding such specialists. Perhaps someone knows the URL.

The Life Extension Foundation, which is run by people who take drugs to extend their lifespan (a practice which many in the medical community look at askance, I assure you), keeps a Directory of Innovative Doctors at http://www.lef.org. Many of these physicians are themselves life extensionists. Finding a physician who is a life extensionist will almost surely mean that you’ve found a doctor that is more than willing to attack problems aggressively and creatively. Caveat emptor. Nobody knows how all of this stuff will turn out in the end. I wish you well, C/

I am a male 50 year old who noticed I was becoming semi-hard with the morning erection approx 1 year ago. I could engage in intercourse as long as my penis had stimulation and once into intercourse had no problem ejaculating. Masturbation was never a problem. About three (week of 13DEC99) weeks ago I came down with bronchitis and was given a perscription for to fight the infection and FLOVENT 110mcg Aerosol inh. 13gm (fluticasone propionate, a glucocorticoid) two times in the morning and two at night to be taken for two months. I started on 21DEC99. Sunday 2JAN00 I had trouble mantaining an erection during intercourse. I was concern the Flovent was affecting my desire so I stopped on 3JAN00. Today I have practically no labido and no erection. I plan to visit the urologist on Fri 7JAN00. This can be due to several causes. Possibilitiess include hormonal, vascular or neural. Glucocorticoids can, if you get a supraphysiological dose, cause testosterone to drop to very low levels. Sunday 2JAN00 I had trouble mantaining an erection during intercourse. I was concern the Flovent was affecting my desire so I stopped on 3JAN00. Today I have practically no labido and no erection. I plan to visit the urologist on Fri 7JAN00. Do you think the FLOVENT might have had an impact?

It could have accelerated an existing problem. The low libido can be due to low dopamine or low testosterone or low libido or androgen insensitivity. Some of these can be tested for with ease. No erection can be plumbing. Low libido is usually chemical. Get your URO to test the following: Total testosterone Free testosterone LH FSH Prolactin Estradiol Zinc TSH T3 T4 Get the values and ranges and bring them back here. Do NOT accept "normal" as an answer. "Normal" includes impotent 85-year-olds (impotence is considered normal at 85). By bringing them back here, you’ll get umpteen people jumping in to help with advice as to what to do next. Don’t worry about the values being embarassing – you won’t beat what mine were (testosterone level that qualified me as a harem gaurd, estradiol higher than a woman pregnant with octuplets). Now my testosterone/libido are enough to make me want to rape a doorknob! What you want is to get your system into gear. The rapid onset is suspicious. Are you on any other meds?

Question:

Singulair is known to curb/assist in eczema and uticaria.

Would you provide me a source for this comment.  I have eczema on my hands and used Singulair until recently.  I’ll have to go back and check the dates but the flare of eczema may coincide with my discontinuing the Singulair.

Response:

Singulair is effective in patients who have an atopic component to their asthma. This atopy is more in align with the upper airways (rhinitis etc.) than a skin allergy, however, Singulair is known to curb/assist in eczema and uticaria. When comparing the two different anti-leukotreiens, as noted on the package inserts of Accolate, it is twice a day dosage, has limited safety profile of between 12 and 65yrs, there exists food and drug interactions, may not be taken one hour before food or before two hours after  food as food affects the bioavailabilty of the drug, interacts with warfarin, aspirin, theophylline, terfinadine and erethomicine. Singulair on the other hand is a once a day dosage, no food or drug interactions and a safety profile from 2yrs of age. The drug is currently being trialed in 6month old babies to two year old kids. Singulair has addressed my post-nasal drip, used to take Flixonase. You might find that your allergy is caused by something that your currentmeds do not address, but if I was you, I would try the Singulair, drop the Accolate. My opinion remains my own from personal experience. Good luck. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I have some Singulair at the house and have been thinking of taking that instead of Accolate but I doubt that would work. You don’t know until you try it, but has this been prescribed by your doctor?  You would be wise to do things in concert with him/her.  I’m also assuming your doctor is an allergist.  If not, get an allergist fast. You are also taking a lot of asthma medicine and you have a lot of "rhinitis" type symptoms (post-nasal drip, etc.).  Sounds like you want to address those, too (the asthma meds won’t do that, although Singulair might, but that’s another topic). You might want to consider allergy shots, if your allergist determines that indeed you have allergy problems.  They take a long time to build up, but if they work, they are great because you become "immune" to some degree to your allergens.  Very nice.  I speak from experience (took shots for over 10 years then stopped when symptoms were abated for several years). — — Lou Pecora   – My views are my own.

Response:

I suspect the Flovent, especially if you get worse as the dose goes up. Some of Flovent’s side effects are serioius and permanent. Read the warning paper that comes with it. Wheezing is a side effect of Flovent, ( big help). And I never had hives  before Flovent, (another side effect), I only used it for 3 weeks and I still get hives 20 months later.

Hi Dana, Some things that might help.  Are your windows in the house closed. Do you keep your windows closed when traveling in the car?  This will keep the pollen out of the house and car.

For the house it might be a better idea to use a window fan with a pollen filter. I mean, what if she’s allergic to indoor things as well like mold spores and dust mite junk? — web: http://www.insecurities.org/jenwolf I keep my air conditioner on with the windows closed.  Of course it’s over 90 here.  If there is a dust mite problem or mold problem then those issues need to be addressed.  I live in a low humidity area so mold and dust mites aren’t that big of a deal here, but I do have my mattresses encased, etc. Also our house is 2 years old, and we are getting rid of the carpets and going to install laminate flooring to elimate other thousands of things that carpets hold. Anything I think will help with my ashtma and allergys I try to do.  Also I live on a farm and no kittys are allowed inside, along with the rest of the animals.  So no pet dander either. Kathy

Response:

Thanks everyone for the input. For the record, I always have the windows closed and the a/c on. Use a top of the line filter as well just for allergies. I have a air purifer in my bedroom. There are no pets in the house. I am extremely allergic to mold and grass pollen both of which have been at high levels in my area for the past 2 wks. I have not had any probs with my allergies or asthma since I developed sinusitus this past winter. I have developed a sinus infection as of this morning and have started on antibiotics. This mess in my nose is starting to flare up my asthma more and more and hope I don’t have to get back on prednisone. Just can’t handle how moody I get on it. I have to take a test this coming Sat. in order to apply to grad school so I am a bit freaked out to say the least. I really hope I start feeling better in the next few weeks. Dana

Talk to your doctor about adding pseudophedrine decongestant to help with sinuses (there’s a variation of Zyrtec called Zyrtec-D with a 12 hour dose of pseudophedrine included).  There may be reasons against your taking it. Good luck Liam

Use pickling salt, as it is more pure and warm water with a syringe or water pic.  Do several times a day before you use the flonase.  I also gargle with the salt water mixture.  This helps the sore throat. Also when I am having a bad flare like this, I use the nebulizer instead of the albuterol inhaler.  I take hot showers for the steam to open up also. You could ask the doc for a steroid shot, as they last about 3 weeks. Hope this helps Kathy

Headaches are a known side affect with Singulair.  My patient information guide shows that and the Dr. has confirmed that.  It is a side affect I am willing to deal with so long as my asthma is controlled.  I have cough asthma and I have tried just about every drug combo/type in the past 2.5 years with no real relief.  So far, I am getting slowly better on the singuliar with Flovent 110 2puffs 2x and albuterol as needed.  At this point I just want to know what works to relieve the headaches and if they will taper off as I adjust to the Singulair over time.  From what I have been told, the answer so far seems to be yes.   Thanks for your reply, Lynn – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – If you are getting headaches from the Singulair you need to call your doctor and tell him. Lynn, When you have to start taking meds for the side-effects, there is cause to be concerned.  What the headaches are from??  I tried Singulair and am considering it again (I still have 1/2 bottle left), but I did have flare-up while I was on it and went back to Accolate.  I’m not noticing any side effects, otherwise I’d think twice about continuing. Hmmmm. Good question. I thought Ventolin and Proventil (and generic albuterol/salbutamol) MDI’s were equivalent. But you are correct, the site says not only are the MDI’s not equivalent but other forms of albuterol (powder, pills) are not equivalent. However, Ventolin is made by Glaxo of England, and in the US is also supplied as Proventil by Schering under license from Glaxo. I doubt that the differences are significent, and I think if anything that Ventolin is the more reliable product. I think I did see a post that said Schering uses a different pressure in their propellant, but its interesting the other versions of albuterol are also not equivalent; maybe absorbed at a different rate. Ventolin and Proventil both have the same amount of albuterol, 90 mcg/puff at the mouthpiece [100 mcg/puff at nozzle]. My HMO provides generic albuterol MDI’s, Dey. It seems to work as well as Ventolin or Proventil, both of which I have used. http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/albut1.htm albuterol Excerpt: "How Supplied – Rated Therapeutically Equivalent: Aerosol, Metered – Inhalation – 0.09 mg/inh        17 gm, 200 inh                    $22.20                          Ventolin, Refill, Glaxo Wellcome                                                    00173-0321-98        17 gm, 200 inh                    $24.08                          Ventolin, Inhaler, Glaxo Wellcome                                                    00173-0321-88 How Supplied – Not Rated Equivalent: Aerosol, Metered – Inhalation – 0.09 mg/inh        17 gm              $22.20                   Proventil, Schering                                  00085-0614-03        17 gm              $24.09                   Proventil, Schering                                  00085-0614-02 Capsule, Gelatin – Inhalation – 200 mcg        100’s             $24.08                   Ventolin, Rotacaps, Refill, Glaxo Wellcome                                                    00173-0389-02        100’s             $28.42                   Ventolin, Rotacaps, Glaxo Wellcome                                                    00173-0389-01        24’s             $19.51                   Ventolin Rotacaps, Glaxo Wellcome                                                    00173-0389-03 Powder – -        100 gm              $135.00                    Albuterol Sulfate, Elge                                        58298-0509-01        100 gm              $187.50                    Albuterol, Paddock Labs                                        00574-0512-01        25 gm              $52.50                    Albuterol, Paddock Labs                                        00574-0512-25 Tablet, Coated, Sustained Action – Oral – 4 mg        100’s             $63.24                    Volmax, Muro Pharm                                          00451-0398-50        100’s             $63.31                    Proventil Repetabs, Schering                                          00085-0431-02        100’s             $79.28                    Proventil Repetabs, Schering                                          00085-0431-04        500’s             $307.10                    Proventil, Schering                                          00085-0431-03        60’s             $35.67                    Volmax, Muro Pharm                                          00451-0398-00 Tablet, Coated, Sustained Action – Oral – 8 mg        100’s             $117.42                    Volmax, Muro Pharm                                    00451-0399-50        60’s             $63.60                    Volmax, Muro Pharm                                    00451-0399-00" Copyright 1997 – Mosby Inc. – Mosby’s GenRx

Since I started Singulair 10mg 1x tablets 2 weeks ago, I get headaches almost daily.  (Didn’t have that with Accolate).  I have tried advil and tylenol but neither seems to get rid of the headache completely. Sometimes the headache is on one side only—never had that before.

boy, I thought I was going crazy expirencing this! like you, nothing seems to work, and my asthma doc is convinced there’s "no side-effects" with singulair…maybe it’s finally time to get a second (and third if necessary ) opinion! Judge me all you want, just keep the verdict to yourself

Serzone

Question:

I have been taking Serzone for at least 3 months. Before that i took Zoloft very briefly. I had a lot of side effects on Zoloft.  Started out on 50mg of Serzone now at 300mg. I havnt noticed any strong reaction one way or another. No real bad side effects and no real help for sp. No weight gain. I think I have been feeling alittle less anxious- like I dont care as much what people think. I do feel alittle tired during the day tho but I cant say for sure its because of that. My therapist recommends I go a higher dose -she thinks I will feel more of an affect then. We shall see. Renee

Response:

From: zkwyed1 zkwyed1NOzkS…@yahoo.co I’ve been taking Serzone for about two months now. Before that I had taken Wellbutrin for about two months. On the Wellbutrin I was having a lot of trouble sleeping and problems with trembling and feeling on edge, not to mention it didn’t help with anxiety much. So I switched to Serzone which helps sleeping a lot, in fact one of the problems I had the first couple of weeks was that I could hardly wake up. I could shut of my alarm after eight hours of sleep and still sleep for hours after that… my bed would just call to me with some sort of siren song thing…

LOL. I know that feeling.  I’ve been taking it 2 weeks now and I still have a hard time waking up.  I’m hoping that will pass.  Today (Saturday)  I slept till 10:00 am ! I haven’t done that in a long time. I am feeling very sluggish tho.  and I’m really hoping that will go away.

That was the only problem I had with weight gain, I felt like a giant slug and didn’t want to move much. It has gotten a lot better in that regard. In fact, I would say that if you’re someone with anxiety, Serzone doesn’t add the tense jittery feeling that Wellbutrin seemed to for me. That is definitely only my opinion.

I don’t feel the least bit jittery on this med  : )  I didn’t understand about the weight gain, did you gain weight on this med??  I’m asking because my doc told me I would gain weight on this one.  (that’s what they all say, huh)

Doug,   I see….well although it’s been way to soon, that is about all I’m seeing from it too.  But it’s still ealry Pam

Back in my NIMH days, I was put on Serzone for a while. I can’t say that it did much of anything, for good or for ill. Craig

I too went from Remeron to Serzone but for different reasons.  The first couple of months on Serzone I couldn’t stand the sight of food. That’s the good part.  The bad part was that it made me very nervous and irritable.  I stuck it out and by month 3 I was feeling pretty good and the sp was tolerable. Unfortunatly I also got my appetite back (w/o weight gain)  Sad to say I developed a serious side effect after 6 months and had to quit taking it.  So it’s back to hit and miss with the meds again.  I hope you have good luck with it.                     Gina * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!

Reactions to Zoloft

Question:

Travis, I currently take Zoloft as well and I have never heard about this kind of side effect. My friend suffered with seizures over the last ten years and was told he was epileptic but it turns out he had a brain tumor and went to the Mayo Clinic to have it removed. Maybe a MRI as requested by your doctor would rule this out? Maybe Benzo’s wouldn’t help you because you were reacting to Zoloft withdrawal, Klonopin would be worth a try now to see if it helps. Good Luck. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Do you take an anti-seizure medication? I tried it (before i chose to stop the Zoloft a while back) but it didn’t help at all.

Response:

Why on earth would you continue to take a drug that caused seizures? Why would any competent doctor prescribe it? Do you take an anti-seizure medication?

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I get seizers from Zoloft. Unfortunately, it was the only medication that did anything to help. Since I restarted my medication, I have only passed out three times. But then again, I am not yet at full dosage yet (started at 25mg, increase by 25mg every other week until I reach my needed dose of 200mg). Probably once I get to full dose, I will start the shakes more often. It’s somewhat funny really, I am partially conscious the whole time. I hear but can’t see. I feel but feel no pain. It really freaks people out when it happens in public. Their all like "what do I do?" and stuff. AT least I know when I am going to have one. I just feel somewhat dizzy and seem to emit some sort of mediciney odor (smells like opening a new bottle of medicine). I usually have enough time to prepare, such as setting down the glass of water I may be holding, or sitting down, or whatever. I have yet to get hurt from it. When I fall, it is more of a slow slumping. Anybody else get this type of reaction to Zoloft? ~Travis — My Web: http://www.megalink.net/~farmers/ Gaming section yet to be finished. social anxiety and depression

Question:

Does anyone know of a good med or combination of meds for social anxiety and depression.  I was on paxil for 6 months and gained 50 lbs and felt like I was on sleeping pills.  It worked great except for the unbearable side effects. Zoloft made me aggressive and mean.  Serzone made me confused and not able to think straight at work.  I’m on wellbutrin now with ativan, but the wellbutrin makes me too anxious.  Anyone have any suggestions that have worked for them? The main things is that I cannot gain any more weight!

Response:

Perhaps try adding in a little Celexa to what you’re already on?   I haven’t used it, but from what I hear, once you get used to it, it seems to be the most side effect free SSRI, and many report weight management okay with it.  –Frel. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Does anyone know of a good med or combination of meds for social anxiety and depression.

Dear Babydoll, It is almost impossible for anyone to "know" what med or med combo will work for you without the side-effects you are trying so hard to avoid. That is the unfortunate part of meds, you just don`t know what will work unless you go on them, it is all trial and error. There is one thing that is quite effective for Social anxiety and it has no side-effects :) , and that is cognitive behavioral therapy. Take care :) Jackie ~*~I am the master in my fate; I am the captain of my soul~*~

buspar and beer….

Question:

Hi Tom, I am a wine-maker and get a lot of pleasure from making and drinking my own wine. Most medications (as far as I have seen), tell you to avoid alcohol (there, that’s my disclaimer <G) but I truly do enjoy a good glass of red 3/4 times a week. Several times I have even had (gasp!) 2 glasses of wine, but I draw the line there. What I have found is that I have no tolerance for alcohol -I either feel very sleepy or get quite giddy. I have not felt any after-effects the next day. My doctor is fully aware of my hobby.

I think most doctors automatically tell you not to drink, or very little, whether you’re on medication or not.  But, for me too, when I’m on a benzo, alcohol has an increased effect, and a lot less of it goes a lot farther than I want.  A lot of us self-medicate with alcohol as it is a CNS depressant sort of like benzo’s with a much shorter half-life and more dangerous side-effects. Listen to your body and you can probably tell is you can handle a little alcohol with the drugs or not.  (Unless you are a substance abuser, that is.) Gordon Held

Response:

That seems to be the case. Too bad meds ALL have to say this. I had to take an antibiotic once with the same warning – but there it DID matter. WOW! Talk about am upset stomach! Yikes! So… a beer or two is cool. A good glass of cabernet even better! Cheers… Tom – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi Tom, I am a wine-maker and get a lot of pleasure from making and drinking my own wine. The times that I do not drink at all are the periods when my anxiety is extremely high and I am either levelling up on a medication or trying a new one or if the depression is very bad. Then I wait for a few months until I feel "balanced" again. BTW, I take a TCA daily and an occasional benzo when needed. If you are concerned about damage to your body, you could have your doctor do a liver function test. Cheers! Charley So… I want to understand… Does taking Buspar or Xanax, etc. forever disallow you from enjoying a beer or two with friends -something that has REALLY lifted my spirits in the past. I’ve battled this question myself several times and usually have the beer or wine, not to excess. But I WOULD like to know if it is TRULY harmful, in this VERY moderate way? Doctors will, of course, say no alcohol. Pharmacy, same thing. I understand. They have to cover their ass and the combination probably is not good (chemically speaking) but alcohol never is good for you anyway. Addictive people should NEVER cross the two! To that I agree. But, once you take some of the "fairly" harmless fun out of your life, your anxiety can go though the roof! I KNOW! Exercise is great. I do it myself regularly when I can. BUT… giving up those few beers with my friends FOREVER seems harsh! I drank twice (half bottle of wine once and a few beers another time) while on Buspar (5 mg/twice day) and Xanax (1 mg 2-3 times a day). All I noticed is I had a good time, might have slept TOO well, and maybe a little more groggy getting up. So what! Took a shower and went back to my daily, fairly healthy grind! Probably a week or two later I may have done the same thing. I have a high tolerance to drugs (Found out the hard way after an appendectomy!). That’s just "my" body chemistry. Just curious if I’m crazy or not? Please no preachy non alcohol speeches. I’d just like to know what the REAL danger here is. Maybe we should all just go to http://www.beer.com and send each other a "virtual" beer! It’s really there! Someone else can start that tradition. Any takers? Tom …do not mix very well. i went a little nuts lastnight and drank a couple quarts of beer, felt fine til i woke up this morning, now i’m wondering if i have done long lasting damage to my body!!!!! uggggh. 15mg 2x a day and 3 quarts of pabst, you think i will live? needless to say i’m not doing that again. If you react well to it there should be no problem in moderate drinking, although it’s better not to do it on a daily basis. I often drink a few glasses of wine myself and have done so on 375 different meds and I’m still around with the ol’ liver still intact. *Moderation* is the keyword here though. Interaction with benzos: alcohol and benzos both are CNS depressants which means that they may enhance each other’s effects: in other words, you may get drunk sooner or be more sedated than others. Hangovers may consist of PA’s. I’m not familiar with the exact interaction with Buspar but I do know that except with MAOI’s, AD’s can be taken while drinking a few glasses of wine/beer. My pdoc doesn’t mind me drinking as he knows I’m not going to be a alcoholic. I had a REAL BAD experience when I was a drinker and took Buspar.  The two do not mix together well at all.  I personally don’t approve of drinking while taking meds…end of story.  But for those who do I say this…..Buspar and alcohol ARE dangerous.  Be careful.  You have to stop and ask yourself is drinking more important or is my health more important. nah, i’m a professional drinker…… here’s my record for most alcohol consumed in an evening, it’s true i wrote it all down the next day, amazed myself even: 3 12oz cans of pabst 2 long island teas a martini 2 12 oz bottles of miller 1 screw driver 4 16 oz draft beers (unknown brand) 1 big margarita and a quart of pabst before bed and i didn’t even have a hangover, i was at work at 9 am on the dot.  i wouldn’t lie "Remember, when someone annoys you that it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head." http://members.aol.com/unfun26/enter.htm

…do not mix very well. i went a little nuts lastnight and drank a couple quarts of beer, felt fine til i woke up this morning, now i’m wondering if i have done long lasting damage to my body!!!!! uggggh. 15mg 2x a day and 3 quarts of pabst, you think i will live? needless to say i’m not doing that again.

Been doing that lately my self.   Watch – that it can truley mess you up. Do you feel it helps – albeit only temporarily?    What about depression the next day?  Terable? You’re so much better off when you do something physical.  Working out helps.  I guess that would include narly s-x too. Well i wish i could make that claim lately but i’m crossing a sand doon in the middle of the desert..  I know that soon along will come Ms or Mrs right,  food and water!   Maybe then i’ll be able to worry about somebody else’s life 1/2 as much as i do mine.  Maybe i just need two women! Wo wo wo, i thought you were banned.   Don’t know if we should be talking.  Well i think the question now is do you think you learned what ever lesson that it was you should have been learning?   Make people come to you.  Screw them – it’ll happen.! In the mean time hold your head up and by all means just relax. ralph g

Wew that’s alot.  But try climbing on top your roof and smoking two bowls of green bud on top of it all and then fall off the ladder.  Still feeling that.  I drank a lot more than you did though. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – well DAMN, boy! i think the three quarts of pabst would do you in the next morning even without the buspar! nah, i’m a professional drinker…… here’s my record for most alcohol consumed in an evening, it’s true i wrote it all down the next day, amazed myself even: 3 12oz cans of pabst 2 long island teas a martini 2 12 oz bottles of miller 1 screw driver 4 16 oz draft beers (unknown brand) 1 big margarita and a quart of pabst before bed and i didn’t even have a hangover, i was at work at 9 am on the dot.  i wouldn’t lie "Remember, when someone annoys you that it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head." http://members.aol.com/unfun26/enter.htm

i felt great while drinking, it was the next morning i had to pay though. i didn’t have one single bit of anxiety during the festivities. no depression the next day, just horrible shakes and headache, and a thought that i had hurt my brain beyond repair. working out is a good thing, well, i play soccer, and do a lot of walking, not really "working out" but it is exercise. sex is a bore and does nothing more than make life more complicated. oh well, i’ve sworn it off for now. huh? the banned thing is because i was banned from a club in memphis for talking shite on them on my web page, it’s just an inside joke in a couple other news groups. In the mean time hold your head up and by all means just relax.

sure, that’s what i’m going for. "Remember, when someone annoys you that it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head." http://members.aol.com/unfun26/enter.htm

Was only wondering.   Don’t mix meds and alcohol!   Not good for you and in most cases it’s antagonistic in it’s effects.  I RARELY even mix a little g.bud with it.  Come down and by all means don’t add to the problem! :) I never have any anxiety while drinking but i never need help with that, med wise. I don’t even like mixing analgisics with my hang over!   You bought it you pay for it.   PAY AS YOU GO!  Leave your chemistry alone :) And sex is a bore?   What?   <biting toung to keep from commenting See ya, gotta go now.   Sex a bore?   It’s always a bore if you’re lucky! Thanks for the explain- on the banned thing.  Avoided that as much as possible. Was there something you wanted to add? Talking s–t on yo web page?  Not cooo if you ask me.  I knew there was an alterior motive to your madness :) Later! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Been doing that lately my self.   Watch – that it can truley mess you up. Cheers! Charley

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – So… I want to understand… Does taking Buspar or Xanax, etc. forever disallow you from enjoying a beer or two with friends -something that has REALLY lifted my spirits in the past. Any takers?
